Mr. and Mrs. Jim Harless

Jim and Delma Fern (Steinhauser) Harless of Independence hosted a family dinner in celebration of their 60th wedding anniversary June 6.
Mr. and Mrs. Harless have two daughters, Sylvia Harless of Lee’s Summit, and Gloria Sanders of Marietta, Ga., and one granddaughter of Kristen Sanders of Highlands Ranch, Colo.
They were married at the First Methodist Church in Independence, where they are active members, and have lived in Independence all their married life.
Jim was employed by the First Federal Savings & Loan Association for 33 years, retiring in 1988. He also worked for Business Men’s Assurance and the Jackson County Title Co.
Delma Fern worked for the John M. Steinhauser Real Estate, Loan and Insurance Agency, and the Kansas City Royals, retiring from Hallmark Cards Inc. in 1993.
They enjoyed traveling in their motor home and being “snow birds” in Texas a number of years.
