Don and Audrey Stonger celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary July 19 at the Hereford House, with members of their immediate family.
Mr. and Mrs. Stonger have three sons, Mike Stonger of Midland, Mich., Rick Stonger and wife, Lynne, of Colorado Springs, and Frank Stonger and wife, Alonda, of Longview, Texas, six grandchildren, Laura, Stewart and wife, Shannon, of Michigan, Megan and Jason of Colorado, and Cody and Todd of Texas, and one great-grandson, Elijah of Michigan.
They were married Aug. 20, 1948, at Walnut Park RLDS Church (now Community of Christ) and have attended College Park Community of Christ all their married life.
Don was a chemical engineer for the Department of Army, at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant until retiring in 1979. Audrey was mostly a homemaker, but various times was a secretary at Independence Regional Health Center.
After the luncheon at Hereford House, the family gathered for pictures at the restaurant and at the family home, where gifts were exchanged, desserts enjoyed and many fond reminiscences, jokes and laughs were shared and enjoyed by all.
