Doubledee

Roy and Verlin Doubledee will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary Aug. 4.

They were married in 1943 at Wesley Methodist Church in Kansas City, and raised their three daughters, Gaye Frey, Joy Goodwin and Dale Ann Snell in Independence.

Roy was a contractor and built many homes in the Kansas City area. After their daughters were raise, Verlin worked for Sears. Their retirement years were spent traveling throughout the United States in their motor home, spending most of their time in Brownsville, Texas. They now reside in Lee’s Summit.

The Doubledee’s will celebrate their milestone with their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren at a dinner on Aug. 2.
