Fetters

Leonard “Mike” and Helen Fetters of Independence are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.

They met in junior college, fell in love, and exchanged vows at St. James Catholic Church in Kansas City on Aug. 16, 1958. They have lived in Independence all their married life.

They are the proud parents of three children, Kevin Fetters of Lee’s Summit, Kathy Fetters of Overland Park, and Pat Fetters of Independence, and proud grandparents of six grandchildren.

They enjoy travel, and will celebrate their 50 years of marriage on an Alaskan cruise. A mass of celebration was held at Nativity of Mary Catholic Church, where they have been active members of the parish for 46 years. Friends and family will celebrate this 50-year romance at an open house Sept. 7.

We are all blessed by their example of a loving and lasting marriage.
