Animals are like us in many ways. They have the same illnesses we do, the same conditions, and sometimes the same injuries. As humans we don't want people to treat us differently if we suffer from an illness or have a handicap. The same goes for animals. They just want to be loved, just like humans do. When my dog Meggie had bone cancer we had to amputate her left rear leg. Once she recuperated she just got up and started walking. Animals are resilient that way. We should be too.
