  • James H. Crowder, 87, of Blue Springs, Mo., passed away July 11, 2013, at Shangri-La Care Center in Blue Springs surrounded by his loving family.   
     
    Visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 pm, Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at Meyers Funeral Chapel, 1600 W. Main St., Blue Springs, MO, 816-229-3276.  Funeral services will be 9:00 am Wednesday July17, 2013 at Meyers Funeral Chapel with burial to follow at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO. Contributions in memory of James may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Memories and condolences for the family may be left at www.meyersfuneralchapel.com.  
     
    James was born December 11, 1925, in Kansas City to James and Katherine (Hansen) Crowder. He was united in marriage to Opal Keeton on September 27, 1945, and she preceded him in death in 2008. James was a US Navy veteran, and he owned and operated Crowder Septic Service for many years. He was a member of the Ararat Shrine and Masons. In addition to his wife, Opal, he was preceded in death by his parents, and a daughter.  
     
    He is survived by his sons, Lonnie and Julie Crowder of Blue Springs, Mo., Ronnie Crowder and Wade Koistinen of Independence, Mo., Michael and Susan Crowder of Roscoe, Mo., James and Tisha Crowder of Holden, Mo., daughters, Kay and David Chapman of Oak Grove, Mo., Misty Jimenez and husband Marco of Kansas City, Mo., sister, Mary Coe and husband Jim of Independence, Mo., 14 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren, and many friends and relatives
