Clay Meyers, son of Kim and Tod Meyers of Shawnee, Kan., received his Eagle Court of Honor on Aug. 4 in Shawnee. Clay began his Trail to Eagle in 2005. He attended H. Roe Bartle Scout Camp and enjoyed an experience of a lifetime when he and his dad went to Philmont in July 2013. Clay completed his Eagle project in the spring of 2013. He built shelving for African Drums for the Gillis Center in Kansas City. Clay is proud to join both of his older brothers, Dusty and Tucker, among the ranks of Eagle Scouts, being the third Meyers brother to become an Eagle. Clay will be a sophomore at Shawnee Mission North West. He has played ice hockey for several years and loves figuring out how things work. He would like to be a car designer some day. Clay’s parents have been very active in scouting and are graduates of Truman High School. His grandparents are Arleta Howard and the late Poley Howard of Independence, and Allen Meyers and the late Mary Meyers of Marion.
