The following is a list lunches being served at area community centers for the week beginning Sept. 16.

Palmer Center - Independence

Lunch is served at 11:30 a.m. Suggested donation, $2. You may reserve a meal up to three days in advance. To make or cancel your reservation, 816-325-6200.

MONDAY: Baked chicken leg quarter, boiled potatoes/skin, green beans/onions, strawberry/pineapple mix, wheat roll.

TUESDAY: Turkey cheeseburger/wheat bun, broccoli florets, diced peaches.

WEDNESDAY: Birthday lunch - Fried chicken breast, mashed potatoes, winter mix vegetables, wheat roll, strawberry swirl ice cream/white cake (no icing.)

THURSDAY: Herb roasted chicken breast/gravy, mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables, cinnamon apples, wheat bread.

FRIDAY: Roast pork/gravy, mashed potatoes, broccoli Normandy, diced peaches, wheat roll.

Fairmount Community Center - Independence

Lunch is served at 11:30 a.m. Suggested donation, $3 for seniors 55 and older, $4 for all others. Reservations must be made 24 hours in advance, 816-254-8334.

MONDAY: Chicken enchilada, corn, applesauce, beets, dessert.

TUESDAY: Island pork roast, broccoli, baked potato, dessert.

WEDNESDAY: Hamburger/tomato and macaroni casserole, green beans, carrots, dessert.

THURSDAY: Roasted pork, sauerkraut, macaroni/cheese, dessert.

FRIDAY: Pizza, salad, dessert.

Vesper Hall - Blue Springs

Lunch is served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Suggested donation, $3.50 for seniors and those who are disabled, $4.50 for those under 60. Walk-ins will be served at noon. Make reservations five working days in advance, 816-228-0181.

MONDAY: Hamburger pizza, tossed salad, Riviera blend vegetables, sliced peaches.

TUESDAY: Chicken alfredo, steamed broccoli, carrots, honeydew slice.

WEDNESDAY: Meatloaf/gravy, baked potato, green beans, strawberries/bananas.

THURSDAY: Tuna patty, steamed cabbage, garlic roasted potatoes, cinnamon apples/topping.

FRIDAY: Chicken salad sandwich, steamed broccoli, potato wedges, strawberries/bananas.

Buckner Senior Center - Buckner

Lunch is served at noon. A donation of $2 is requested from seniors 60 and older; $5 for 59 and under. Reservations are needed 24 hours in advance, 816-650-4018.

MONDAY: Barbecue riblett/wheat bun, baked potato, winter blend vegetables, oatmeal raisin cookie.

TUESDAY: Taco meat/taco chips, shredded cheese, lettuce/tomato/onion, black bean corn, salsa, mandarin oranges.

WEDNESDAY: Roast pork loin, rosemary gravy, California blend vegetables, sweet potato, what roll, apple.

THURSDAY: Salisbury steak, mashed potatoes/gravy, green beans, multi-grain bread, strawberries/pears.

FRIDAY: Oven fried chicken legs, mashed potatoes/gravy, green beans, wheat roll, white cake/vanilla ice cream.
