Mariah Peters fired an even-par 36 to help the Blue Springs girls golf team capture a win in a four-team match Wednesday at Blue Springs Country Club.

The Wildcats totaled 173 in the nine-hole match to top rival Blue Springs South (177), Lee’s Summit West (190) and Lee’s Summit North (216).

Jailyn Marshall shot 43, Cassie Cloninger shot 44 and Mady Acers 50 to help Blue Springs to the win. Kalli Wood (51) and Hannah Reynolds (54) also compete for Blue Springs.

“I thought the girls played a great round overall today,” Blue Springs coach Jill Courter said. “We played six girls today to try to get some No. 5 positions established soon. Cassie Cloninger has been playing much better the past week or two and her score goes to show that everyone on the team matters and everyone's score is important. Mariah had a great round as well. … She doesn't care too much for that particular course, so we were happy she was clicking today as well. I'm proud of our girls, but we are really going to have to start peaking in about two to three weeks.”

Maddie Frerking shot 40 and Jordan Rehkow posted a 41 to lead South. Tara Thorp (43) and Brooke Howe (53) completed the Jaguars’ scoring.

Lindsay Graham’s 52 led Lee’s Summit North, while Mason Fender shot 44 to lead Lee’s Summit West.
