  • Governor gets three judicial nominees
    Three names have been forwarded to Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon to replace Associate Circuit Judge Vernon Scoville III, who recently retired.
    Missouri Lawyers Weekly reports that there were 18 applicants. The 16th Judicial Commission has selected three finalists:
    • Patricia Scaglia, a family law attorney of the Scaglia Law Firm in Independence.
    • Jeffrey Keal of the Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office.
    • Jalilah Otto, chief trial attorney of the Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office and a special assistant U.S. attorney for the Western District of Missouri.
    Nixon has 60 days to select one of the three.
