The Blue Springs South boys swimming and diving team won seven of 11 events to sweep a five-team meet Tuesday at the Blue Springs Family YMCA.
The Jaguars defeated Raymore-Peculiar (168-116), Warrensburg (194-77), O’Hara (218-15) and St. Pius X (190-79).
Jack Pluenneke and Connor Gregston led the way for the Jaguars with a pair of wins and swam a leg in the 200-yard medley relay and 200 freestyle relay victories.
Pluenneke prevailed in the 200 freestyle (1 minute, 52.69 seconds) and the 50 freestyle (24.30), while Gregston took first in the 200 individual medley (2:11.82) and 100 butterfly (1:01.07). They teamed with Stephen Ivey and Connor Dillon for the win in the medley relay (1:48.77) and combined with Dillon and Dominic Baber in the 200 free relay (1:36.25) win.
Ivey won the 100 breaststroke (1:12.12) and took second to St. Pius’ Jackson Cook in the 100 freestyle (57.55).
TRUMAN SWEEPS: Truman won seven events to sweep a five-team meet Wednesday at Henley Aquatic Center.
The Patriots downed St. Pius X (160-105), Blue Springs junior varsity (203-61), William Chrisman (210-17) and Van Horn (213-7). Chrisman beat Van Horn (32-14) but fell to St. Pius (136-24) and the Blue Springs JV (115-29).
Vincent Glorioso sparked Truman with a pair of victories in the 50 (24.47) and 100 (53.78) freestyles.
Monroe Woody claimed a win in the 500 freestyle (6:14.57) and took second in the 200 free (2:18.19). The Patriots’ other wins came from John Crownover in diving (98.10), Jack Knipp in 100 backstroke (1:05.34) and Derrick Linhardt in the 100 butterfly (1:06.21).
Kieran Beeby had Chrisman’s highest finish, taking fourth in the backstroke, while Van Horn’s Harrison Rice was eighth in the breaststroke.
