  • The Blue Springs South softball team enjoyed a successful Senior Night.
Cassie Lamb tripled in two runs and scored another on a throwing error to help the host Jaguars post a 3-1 Suburban Big Six victory over Lee’s Summit North Tuesday.
Megan Schwindler earned the victory in the circle. Bailey Autrey singled and tripled.
“We played well but we still left too many runners on base,” South coach Kristi Williams said. “But it always feels good to win on Senior Night.”
South finished 6-4 in the conference and is 15-10 overall. North fell to 11-14 and 0-9.
FORT OSAGE 15, RUSKIN 0: Felicia Gwinn pitched a three-inning no-hitter and struck out six in leading Fort Osage to an easy non-conference victory Tuesday.
“It was a nice win,” Fort Osage coach Kelly Sullivan said.
The Indians, who had four hits and drew 10 walks, improved to 11-16.
HARRISONVILLE 5, GRAIN VALLEY 1: Leah Sanders singled twice and tripled but it wasn’t enough to prevent Grain Valley from suffering a home Missouri River Valley Conference West setback.
Jordyn Tieman suffered the loss as Grain Valley fell to 8-14 and 4-5.
WILLIAM CHRISMAN 11-11, NORTH KANSAS CITY 1-1: William Chrisman (7-19, 3-7) received strong pitching for a Suburban Middle Seven sweep of the Hornets.
Emilie Garner earned the win in the first game and singled twice, and Kyana Mason homered and tripled in another run to lead the Bears.
Taylor Wiskur was the winning pitcher in the second game helped by Mason’s solo homer and Celine Armstrong’s two singles and two doubles and two RBIs.
“We played really well,” Chrisman coach Lindsey Ramsey said.
