The weather and Belton stopped the William Chrisman football team Friday night.

The host Pirates had too much offense for the Bears, bolting to a 41-14 halftime lead. Then the Suburban Middle Seven game was stopped by lightning. After a long wait it was decided to resume the game at 11 a.m. Saturday.

Bret Wolf returned a kickoff 86 yards for the first Chrisman touchdown. Rahman Shields ran for a two-point conversion. Shields later scored on a 5-yard run. The conversion run failed.

Chrisman took 0-5 overall and 0-3 conference records into the game. Belton was 1-4 and 1-2.

PLEASANT HILL 26, OAK GROVE 22: A late fourth quarter touchdown gave host Pleasant Hill the Missouri River Valley Conference West victory in a battle of unbeatens Friday night.

Each team entered the game 5-0 and 1-0 in the conference.

Oak Grove took a 22-19 lead into the fourth quarter.
