The following is a list lunches being served at area community centers for the week beginning Oct. 14.

Palmer Center - Independence

Lunch is served at 11:30 a.m. Suggested donation, $3; guests are $5.50. You may reserve a meal up to three days in advance. To make or cancel your reservation, 816-325-6200.

MONDAY: Wheat spaghetti/meatsauce, green beans, frozen strawberries, multi-grain bread.

TUESDAY: Meatloaf/gravy, mashed potatoes, Capri mixed vegetables, mandarin oranges, wheat bread.

WEDNESDAY: Birthday lunch - Fried chicken leg quarter, mashed potatoes/gravy, Italian mixed vegetables, wheat roll, frozen strawberries, white cake/no icing.

THURSDAY: Salisbury steak/gravy, scalloped potatoes, winter mixed vegetables, strawberries/pineapple, wheat bread.

FRIDAY: Barbecue rib patty/wheat bun, O’Brien potatoes, mixed vegetables, apricot halves.

Fairmount Community Center - Independence

Lunch is served at 11:30 a.m. Suggested donation, $3 for seniors 55 and older, $4 for all others. Reservations must be made 24 hours in advance, 816-254-8334.

MONDAY: Chicken Portuguese, broccoli, rice, dessert.

TUESDAY: Chili dog, spinach, dessert.

WEDNESDAY: Smothered pork chop, sweet potatoes, steamed cabbage, dessert.

THURSDAY: Chicken alfredo, noodles, green beans, dessert.

FRIDAY: Swedish meatballs, rice, beets, dessert.

Vesper Hall - Blue Springs

Lunch is served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Suggested donation, $3.50 for ages 60 and older; $4.50 for those 59 and younger. Make reservations at least one full working day in advance, 816-228-0181.

MONDAY: Vegetable beef stew/mixed vegetables, steamed broccoli, sliced peaches.

TUESDAY: Herbed butter Tilapia, stewed tomatoes, rice pilaf, pineapple chunks.

WEDNESDAY: Chuck wagon steak, tossed salad, corn, pineapple tidbits.

THURSDAY: Pulled pork sandwich, tomato/onion/lettuce, southern potato salad, bananas/oranges.

FRIDAY: Turkey sandwich/gravy, mashed potatoes, steamed carrots, gelatin/pineapple.

Buckner Senior Center - Buckner

Lunch is served at noon. A donation of $2 is requested from seniors 60 and older; $5 for 59 and under. Reservations are needed 24 hours in advance, 816-650-4018.

MONDAY: Sloppy Joe/wheat bun, California blend vegetables, corn, mandarin oranges, graham crackers.

TUESDAY: Chicken salad/wheat bread, lettuce/tomato/onion, spring pea salad, diced peaches/pears, sugar cookie.

THURSDAY: Barbecue riblette/wheat bun, baked potato, winter blend vegetables, oatmeal raisin cookie.
