  • Independence police have reopened a murder cold case from 1994.
Police spokesperson Tom Gentry said Wednesday that the homicide case of Diana M. Ault from Jan. 31, 1994, has been reopened and that police have arranged for a website, and a Facebook account has been set up to gather information on the case.
Ault, who was 26, was found shot to death in her home in the 19000 block of East Ninth eStreet in Independence on Jan. 31, 1994. An infant daughter and a toddler son were found crying beside her body when she was found.
“In an effort to find justice for the murder of Diana Ault and help bring closure to her family, Independence Police and Diana’s family are working together to encourage anyone who may have any information to please come forward,” Gentry wrote in a press release.
If you have any information about Ault or the case, police are asking you to visit the website at www.justicefordianaault.com or access the Facebook page at www.facebook.com/DianaMarieAult and leave information there.
