The American Cancer Society is looking for volunteers to help at the Fifth Annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5K fundraising walk on Oct. 26.
The walk is at Liberty Memorial in Kansas City, starting at 9 a.m. About 200 volunteers are needed for the walk to help with registration, parking, volunteer check-in, survivor activities, cheerleaders, refreshment stations, and more.
Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is the largest network of breast cancer awareness events in the nation. This event also supports the American Cancer Society’s mission to fight breast cancer on all fronts and save lives by helping people stay well by reducing breast cancer risk or finding it early; providing information and support during and after a cancer diagnosis; by finding cures through investment in breast cancer research and by encouraging lawmakers to pass laws to defeat cancer and by rallying communities worldwide to join the fight.
To become a volunteer for the walk, contact Megan Evans at 816-218-7136 or Megan.Evans@cancer.org, or visit MakingStridesKansasCity.org. For information about breast cancer, contact the American Cancer Society at 1-800-227-2345 or visit cancer.org.
