Eleven members of the Independence Rotary Club were honored on Sept. 28 for their years of commitment to Rotary and years of service to the community.

In a reception at the home of Jim and Paula Gamble, the Rotarians and their spouses were treated to a five-course dinner created by fellow Rotarian and acclaimed chef Billie Preston. Leading the proceedings was current Rotary club president Ron Finke, and more than 10 current Rotarians, along with a few of their spouses, served as staff for the evening.

“These gentlemen have given so much of their lives – their time, their expertise, and their leadership – to make our community a better place, we felt it was our charge to honor their incredible investment,” said Club President Ron Finke.

Honorees for the evening were Rotarians Byron Constance, Fred Hahn, Don Potts, Allen Lefko, Jim Younts, Jerry Moore, Charlie Franklin, Larry Cook, and Max Raveill who were joined by spouses Jane Constance, Marge Hahn, Barbara Potts, Barbara Lefko, Luanne Younts, Janice Moore, Elaine Franklin, Wanda Cook, and Ann Raveill. Rotarians Dick Puhr and Tom Thomas were unable to attend but were also honored at the event.

“For 40 years I've traveled the world with Fred to high-level Rotary events. Tonight's dinner party was the best I have ever attended," said Marge Hahn following the dinner.
