  • More than 80 entries are scheduled to participate at the 65th Annual Halloween Parade Saturday at the Independence Square.
The parade begins at 3 p.m. at the corner of Pleasant and Walnut streets and will end at McCoy Park.
Prior to the parade, you and your child can trick or treat at participating Independence Square merchants from 1 to 2:30 p.m.
Also, Servpro of Lee’s Summit will be providing a free bouncing house for children from noon to 3 p.m. on Main Street between Maple and Lexington streets.
Kettle corn and hot dogs will be available for purchase as well.
Organizers say the parade will be held rain or shine. According to Examiner news partner KMBZ meteorologist Bryan Busby, Saturday's weather forecast calls for warmer weather with partly to mostly sunny skies and highs in the low 60s.
