Morrissey and Parnell downed Boeschen and Farid 6-4, 6-4 in the title-clinching doubles match.
“We talked about being together as a team and suppporting each other in all of the matches and playing with energy for every single point and they did that today,” North coach Stu Reece said. “We knew we had the ability to do it. I don’t hit any shots and all of the girls believed they could do it. Everyone of our girls elevated their game to the highest levels in the championship matches.”
“Morrissey (against Rock Bridge) was down 1-5 in the third set and came back to win her match. That really set the momentum for (us) and never let Rock Bridge create any momentum.”
Leer also boosted the Broncos chances with a comeback win. North finished 22-1 with the only loss early in the season to Notre Dame de Sion. North then defeated Sion in sectional play. North finished third in the 2012 state tournament.
