Chris Brown has entered rehab two days after he was arrested in Washington, D.C., for alleged assault, E! Online reports.
"Chris Brown has elected to enter a rehab facility," a rep for the singer said in a statement to the site. "His goal is to gain focus and insight into his past and recent behavior, enabling him to continue the pursuit of his life and his career from a healthier vantage point."
TMZ.com reports that Brown is entering rehab specifically for anger-management issues.
Brown, 24, and his bodyguard were taken into custody after they were allegedly involved in an altercation with a third man, named Parker Isaac Adams, outside the W Hotel around 4:25 a.m. Although Adams claimed that both Brown and his bodyguard punched him, Brown alleged that he was on his tour bus when his bodyguard, Chris Hollosy, fought with Adams.
Brown spent a day-and-a-half in custody, but was set free Monday after the charge was reduced from a felony to a misdemeanor.
Brown is currently on probation stemming from his 2009 assault on his then-girlfriend Rihanna. If convicted of violating his probation, he could face a maximum of four years in prison. He is due back in court on Nov. 20.
