Blue Springs High School will honor members of its 2003 state championship football team at tonight’s game.
Players should check in from 5 to 5:30 p.m. in the Wildcat Room. It was the weight room when the 2003 players were in high school. From 5:30 to 6 p.m. they will watch a video and tour the facilities. The game against Lee's Summit North will begin at 7 p.m. There will be a reception at the Blue Springs Country Club following the game.

The Wildcats also will honor Major League Baseball pitchers and former Blue Springs standouts Nick Tepesch, who is with the Texas Rangers, and Kris Johnson, who is with the Pittsburgh Pirates. They will have their jerseys retired in a pregame ceremony.
WINTER SPORTS MEETINGS: Blue Springs and Blue Springs South high schools will have a mandatory winter sports meeting 7 p.m. Sunday for parents of athletes in grades 9-12.
The meetings begin at 7 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center at each school, followed by a breakout session for each sport at approximately 7:45 p.m. At least one parent of each athlete intending to try out for boys and girls basketball, girls swimming or wrestling must attend in order for that student to begin practicing on Nov. 4 (or Nov. 18 for swimming).
If parents attended the fall meeting, attendance at the 7 p.m. session is not necessary but they should attend the breakout session at 7:45.
