CEO, Faith Bible College,
In response to the recent local Bible College article ("Local Bible college concerns raised," James Everett, Oct. 25), Faith Bible College is a fully privately accredited school following all of the law in the state of Missouri. We are not a diploma mill, as 95 percent of our students are in-class students. Most of our teachers come from highly accredited schools, such as KU and UMKC, as well as Harvard, just to present a few.
We have been in compliance with the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education through the Veterans Administration for our V.A. students for approximately 12 years. In addition to this, I was the field Practicum Supervisor for UMKC for the years of 2001 and 2002 under the direction of Maurice Macy, who is the field practicum director for UMKC.
We have placed hundreds of people in the ministry over the past 17 years, as well as more than 60 pastors in churches, because of our degrees. Our degrees on the secular side have opened many doors. People have been promoted through the I.R.S., as well as teachers at Park University, just to name a couple. One person is now the administrator of a hospital in Alaska, and one of our students went on to become a lawyer. A degree from Faith Bible College, if God is in it, will open many doors.
We are also recognized by the Association of Christian Schools International. ACSI only recognizes three schools in Missouri and we are one and Calvary Bible College and Central Bible College are the other two. ACSI has 5.5 million students worldwide and 24,000 schools.
