  • Three advance to Eagle Scout

  • Three Boy Scouts from Troop 492, which is sponsored by John Snow, DDS, had their Eagle Court of Honor on Oct. 29 at Susquehanna Baptist Church in Independence.
    Keven Osborn Cooper joined Troop 492 in January 2009 after earning the Arrow of Light Award in Pack 483. His record of achievement includes 32 merit badges. He has shown leadership through the positions of Patrol Leader and Quartermaster.
    Keven attended five years at the H. Roe Bartle Scout Camp, where he attained the rank of Warrior Hidden Show Wolf in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. His High Adventure participation includes South Dakota, Wisconsin, Arkansas and St. Louis.
    For his Eagle Service Project, Keven planned and supervised the construction of clothing racks for his church’s clothes closet.
    Keven is a sophomore at Truman High School, where he participates in football and the French Club. He attends Birchwood Baptist Church and the youth group there. His guardians are Herb and Vicki Cooper. His father is Bradley Cooper and his mother is Melissa Lucker.
    Joshua Scott Reynolds, the son of Scott and Monica Reynolds, joined Troop 492 in October 2007. His record of achievement includes 46 merit badges, the World Conservation Award and he was Troop 492 Scout of the Year in 2010.
    Leadership has been shown through the positions of Patrol Leader, Quartermaster and Assistant Senior patrol Leader.
    Joshua attended five years at the H. Roe Bartle Scout Camp, where he is Warrior Sprinting White Stallion in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. His High Adventure participation includes Colorado, Wisconsin and Arkansas.
    For his Eagle Service Project, he planned and supervised the construction of five bird feeders for the Missouri Department of Conservation.
    Joshua is a junior at William Chrisman High School and the Herndon Career Center.
    Austin Christopher Davis, the son of Chris and Lisa Davis, joined Troop 492 in January 2009 after earning the Arrow of Light Award in Pack 492. His record of achievement includes 36 merit badges and the World Conservation Award.
    He has shown leadership in the positions of Den Chief, Patrol Leader, Quartermaster, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader and Senior Patrol Leader.
    Austin attended six years at the H. Roe Bartle Scout Camp, where he is Warrior Soft Chirping Bird in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. His High Adventure participation includes Arkansas and Wisconsin.
    For his Eagle Service Project, he planned and supervised the construction of 25 bird houses for the James A. Reed Memorial Wildlife Area.
    Austin is a senior at Fort Osage High School, where he is a member of the Student Council, Kids Congress, was a Rotary Student of the Month and is a Bright Flight recipient. He attends Lake Lotawana Community United Methodist Church and is in their youth group.
