  • An Independence man was one of two people hurt in a wreck in west-central Missouri.
It happened about 1:30 p.m. on Thanksgiving. Ronald D. Evans, 56, of Ionia, Mo., was driving west on Cheese Creek Road in a 1991 Dodge Dakota. Joseph G. Harrop, 66, of Independence, was a passenger.
Then a 1999 Honda driven by Yuriy Matsyokha, 23, of Green Ridge, Mo., came up from behind the Dakota and struck it.
Both Harrop and Evans sustained minor injuries but refused medical treatment. The Dakota had extensive damage. The Honda was totaled.
