  • Compassionate Friends candle lighting ceremony Sunday

  • The Compassionate Friends Worldwide Candle Lighting, which unites bereaved family and friends around the globe in lighting candles for one hour to honor the memories of the sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, and grandchildren who left too soon, will be held at Walnut Gardens Community of Christ Church at 19201 R.D. Mize Rd. in Independence at 7 p.m. on Sunday, December 8.
    Guests are invited to bring a snack to share after the program, a photo of their loved one for the memory table and a wrapped toy to donate in honor of their child. Guests may also have a complimentary photo button of their child made by bring a photo printed to 2 1/4" by 2 1/2" on plain paper. Arrive by 6:30 p.m. to have a button made.
