  • McDonald Lodge 324 in Independence has elected to give this year's Master's Charity donation to a local child abuse prevention program.
Each year the Master of the Lodge selects a worthy charity to support by donation of funds that have been raised throughout the year. This year's recipient is the Independence-based Child Abuse Prevention Association, located at 503 E. 23rd St. This worthy organization works tirelessly to prevent child abuse and to assist families and children who have been victims of child abuse.
This year's donation has been earmarked to assist CAPA with their 2013 Holiday Heroes program, where families in need receive assistance in providing Christmas to children who otherwise would receive nothing. This sponsorship is intended to make Christmas a time of joy and excitement for children who are in need of love, compassion and help with the healing process.
