The Toy and Miniature Museum has planned several activities before it closes for renovation on Jan. 6. It will reopen in 2015. The Museum is at 5235 Oak St. in Kansas City.
n Father Christmas, 1:30 p.m. Dec. 22. Hear stories of Christmases past from Father Christmas himself. Before passing along their wish lists, visitors will assist professional storyteller Jim "Two Crows” Wallen as he tells interactive tales of the role of Santa Claus throughout American history.
n Music in the Museum, 1 to 2 p.m. and 2:30 to 3 p.m. Jan. 4. Simple Strings will fill the museum galleries with merry 19th century tunes played on a variety of stringed instruments.
On Jan. 6, the museum will close and the collection packing will begin for the spring renovation. Follow the progress on Facebook and their blog, toyandminiaturemuseum.org/blog.
