  • So here we are in a world rife with crime: drugs, arms dealing, prostitution – you name it, we have it.
How many times have we seen, as a for instance, highly paid athletes up on charges, only to have them dropped, because as we all realize, it’s not what you know, it’s who you know – and if you have a bunch of money to back you up, those who in fact want to know you grow exponentially and amongst that growth there just has to be a lawyer or two?
So it was with jaw dropping amazement in our very kitchen just the other day when Sir regaled me with the story of the 6-year old Colorado school kid who was suspended from school for sexual harassment.
    Say, what?
Our little Lothario apparently had developed a bit of a crush on a little girl in his class, and kissed her hand.
According to the girl’s mother, her daughter was subject to Romeo’s advances “over and over,” thus proving that even as we speak, he is a repeat offender.
Oh please, give me a break. This little boy, full of terminal cuteness and with mischief in his eye, naturally couldn’t understand what the problem was, and of course then needed to ask his Mom what sex was.
Thankfully the school has dropped the charge to misconduct, but I think the point is made.
Now don’t get me wrong, before you write voluminous letters to me, I am 100 percent on the case if a person feels unsafe, if a person feels he or she cannot do their job, if stalking is involved – absolutely, lock the bugger up.
However, extrapolate with me, if you will, to the logical conclusion of our current view of the bugaboo Sexual Harassment.
Under the current laws and school policies, no kid will dare approach a member of the opposite sex for fear of at least suspension from school, and at worst arrest and incarceration.
No more holding hands in the canteen, no more stolen kisses under the bleachers at the football, no more note passing in geography, no more meeting at the mall for a shake. Because John Doe will be terrified Jane Doe will blow the whistle on him and will then spend his life in shame and despair.
I’m telling you, it could result in the end of the Human Race not so far down the track – we may have seen the birth of the last generation on this planet.
It seems common sense must yet again take a back seat to political correctness.
