A solid second half paid off for the Oak Grove girls basketball team.
The Panthers outscored host Van Horn 30-16 in the half on their way to 53-29 victory Tuesday night.
“We played pretty good in the second half,” said Oak Grove coach Mike Cox, whose team improved to 3-4. “We got a chance to play everybody.”
Jordyn Anspach and Easton Harmon shared scoring honors for the Panthers with 13 points each. Dani O’Neill added 10.
Hannah Bishop had 11 points, Morgan Wasleski nine and Malaea Ortiz seven for Van Horn (2-3).
“Ortiz had three fouls in the first half, and that hurt us,” Van Horn coach Scorpio Horn said. “We trailed by seven, and then they went on a 10-0 run. But we are getting better and stronger.”
