    To the editor:
Our Missouri state legislature amazes me. As recently reported, they finally bowed down before the extortionists from Boeing. They are demanding $1.7 billion in tax incentives that we know of. There are reports they will expect free property to house their plants, will probably expect no property tax, and expect concessions from the unions. All to create 8,000 jobs.
This is the same legislature that refuses to create 24,000 jobs (three times as many) and receive $8 billion by expanding Medicaid coverage, to extend coverage to the full-time working poor. (All this in addition to saving thousands of lives.) Where is the logic?
Legislators say we cannot trust the federal government to hold up their end. You’d rather trust the carpet-bagging extortionists from Boeing?
