To the editor:
I wrote to the editor about how pleased I was to apply for health care by phone from the Affordable Care Act (The Examiner, letters, Nov. 20, “One ObamaCare Success Story”). Within seven to 10 days I was to be mailed details for several plans so I could select one.
Several calls later, over a period of one month, I was told the detailed information would not be mailed. Since I don’t use computers, I could either pick a plan over the phone or go see a navigator. I received enough information from the navigator to allow me to call the insurance companies directly to get detailed information.
This all took time, and time was running out, therefore, I enrolled in a private plan. Of course at more money. My plan now is to watch how all this plays out and be ready to change plans next year. Obviously I am not pleased with the outcome.
