AMC has renewed The Walking Dead companion show Talking Dead for a fifth season, the network announced Saturday.
Talking Dead's fourth season debuted to 5.1 million viewers, rising to a new record 6 million viewers after Walking Dead's midseason finale. The news comes less than three months after AMC renewed The Walking Dead for a fifth season.
On Friday, host Chris Hardwick told reporters at the Television Critics Association's winter press tour that Talking Dead was as good as renewed. "As far as I know, I think the show is doing well enough that it's beating NBC," he said during a panel for his Comedy Central show @midnight. "As long as they want me to come back, I'll do it."
Both The Walking Dead and Talking Dead will return Sunday, Feb. 9.
