The Missouri Mavericks have postponed tonight's home game against the Allen Americans because of the heavy snow expected in the area. The game has been rescheduled for Feb. 25.

The game would have featured two of the three teams atop the Central Hockey League standings as the Mavericks, Americans and Rapid City all have a league-high 54 points.

"We had significant safety concerns for our players, employees and fans and because of this. We wanted to get ahead of the situation and look to reschedule the game," Mavericks president Brent Thiessen said Monday.

Tickets purchased for tonight's game will be accepted at the Feb. 25 game. Fans who have purchased tickets for tonight's game must hold on to their tickets and present them upon entering the IEC at the rescheduled date.

The Mavericks have also postponed the Feb. 5 “Guys Night Out” event at Isle of Capri Casino due to the weather. A rescheduled date will be announced soon.
