  • ISD's deputy superintendent a superintendent finalist in Columbia

  • Independence School District’s Deputy Superintendent Dred Scott is one of two finalists to become the next superintendent at the Columbia Public School District.
    According to the Columbia Daily Tribune, the Columbia Board of Education announced two finalists for the position of superintendent on Wednesday, Peter Stiepleman, Columbia Public Schools assistant superintendent, and Dred Scott.
    Columbia’s current superintendent, Chris Belcher, is retiring in June.
    Scott, 39, joined the Independence School District in 2008.
    The candidates will meet with the publc next Tuesday as the next step in the selection process.
