Security images released Friday show a group of people leaving the Bass Pro Shops in Independence the night several guns were stolen, and also show a red vehicle leaving the store.

The Kansas City Field Division of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives released the images, while also announcing that the reward for information about the case is now $10,000.

The ATF said the previous reward of $5,000 was being matched by the National Shooting Sports Foundation.

Just after 3 a.m. on Feb. 13, Independence Police responded to an intrusion alarm from Bass Pro, at 18001 Bass Pro Drive in Independence. They discovered the burglary and theft of an unreleased number of long guns, such as rifles and shotguns. None of the stolen weapons were handguns, such as pistols or revolvers, said ATF Public Information Officer John Ham in a previous report.

“All handguns at the location are stored in a vault like bank,” Ham previously said.

Anyone with information about the case is urged to call either ATF at 1-800-ATF-GUNS (1-800-283-4867) or Independence Police at 816-325-7300.

“We are continuing to develop very solid information in this case and are hopefuly that with the release of the surveillance footage and additional reward money offered by the National Shooting Sports Foundation, that those in the community who have information will contact us,” said Ham.
