  • First-year Truman High School principal David Gordon has resigned, according to Independence Superintendent Dale Herl.
Gordon’s resignation was due to “personal reasons,” said Herl, and effective immediately. He also said THS’s associate principal Pam Boatright is now serving as the school’s interim principal and that Gordon will not be returning to the next school year.
Gordon was hired by the Independence School District to replace former THS principal Kristel Barr, who left the district for a Central Office position with the Raymore-Peculiar School District, in June 2013. Gordon previously was a principal of Lexington High School in Lexington, Neb.
