The Blue Springs and Blue Springs South high school football teams will have a joint fundraiser at 10 a.m. Saturday.

For $10 fans can watch the 2013 or 2012 Blue Springs High School football championship game or the 2011 Blue Springs South High School championship game and a first-run movie at Blue Springs 8 Theatre (1901 N.W. Missouri 7).

The money will be used for the teams' upcoming trip to Jamaica, where the Wildcats and Jaguars build homes and work on sanitary water supplies in villages.

“What's unique about this fundraiser is we'll be showing the past three state championship games in the theaters as well as some other films,” said event coordinator and assistant Blue Springs coach Matt Marble. “We tested the state games out the other day and they look really cool in the theaters.”

After the games, fans can also watch their choice of “Divergent,” “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” “Noah,” “God Is Not Dead” or “Frozen.”

Movies start at 10 a.m. and doors open at 9:30. Cash check or credit cards will be accepted at the door.
