James Robert Joseph Brison attained the elite rank of Eagle Scout with Boy Scout Troop 201. His Eagle Court of Honor will be 2 p.m. Saturday (April 5) at Eastside Baptist Church, 19910 Missouri 78, Independence.
Joseph Brison, the son of James and Rebecca Brison of Independence, started scouting in 2004 as a Tiger Cup in Pack 201 at Maywood Baptist Church. He climbed the ranks of Cub Scouts and earned his Arrow of Light in 2008.
Then as a Boy Scout, he held positions of responsibility that included Scribe, Chaplain’s Aide, Assistant Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, Senior Patrol Leader, Historian, and is currently Pack 201’s Den Chief. He has earned 41 merit badges and plans to continue earning merit badges. Joseph earned his God and Church award in 2010.
Joseph is a Warrior in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say and is a Brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow.
He earned his Eagle rank on Nov. 7, 2013, making him the 175th Eagle Scout of Boy Scout Troop 201. His Eagle Project was to design and install a sign for the St. Mark’s United Methodist Church community garden, where Joseph and his family attend church.
