  • Cody Ball and Jake Becker had strong rounds in the Raymore-Peculiar Tournament Monday at Country Creek Golf Club.
    Ball shot a career-best 80 as Fort Osage totaled 349. Becker’s 86 led Chrisman’s total of 399.
“This was a good day for our team,” Fort Osage coach Roger Hunt said. “Ball was striking his driver real well and his putting was solid.”
Sam Morgan (88), Micah Lewis (90), Brice Richardson (91) Sage Miller (94) completed the scoring for Fort Osage.
Josue Najera posted 100, Max Merit 105, Garrett Giles 108 and Travis Stephens 124 for Chrisman.
“Today was a 54-stroke improvement from last year’s team score and our third consecutive team score under 400 on 18 holes, which in my previous two seasons as head coach we had never shot under 400 as a team,” Chrisman coach Jacob Basnight said. “I like the direction our entire program is headed as our junior varsity team shot 41 strokes less than last year’s team score.”
GRAIN VALLEY EAGLE INVITATIONAL: Grain Valley settled for eighth place with 375 and Oak Grove was 12th with 413 in Monday’s tournament at par-72 Adams Pointe Golf Club.
Warrensburg sophomore Bailey Woods was the medalist for the second consecutive year with a 70.
Hunter Peterson led Grain Valley with an 82, Cameron Skinner shot 89, Miguel Contreras 90, Alex Hoover 106 and Hunter Rogers 110. Bryce Mercer’s 89 led Oak Grove. Quin Bunyar had 91, Justin Collins 114 and Cameron Lauber 118.
“We had great weather,” Grain Valley coach Andy Herbert said. “Our top three are hanging in there. We have to find a No. 4 and No. 5. But the kids are coming around and working hard.”
