  • Kansas City Police now say they have positively linked 12 recent highway shootings in the metro area.
With more money froom the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the reward has grown to $10,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
Investigators aren't releasing a vehicle description or information about a suspect. They say they don't want the public to focus on a particular type of vehicle or person, and they don't want misinformation released.
They are asking motorists to be vigilant and to report suspicious activity through 911.
The shootings have mostly been in Kansas City - specifically the Grandview Triangle area - but one happened in Blue Springs at I-70 and Woods Chapel Road and one in Lee's Summit at I-470 and Colbern Road. Another happened in Leawood, Kan.  Three people have been struck by bullets, but injuries were not life-threatening. The injured included the driver in Blue Springs and another Blue Springs man traveling in the Grandview Triangle. Both were hit in the leg.
The latest shooting was reported April 6.
