The National Archives at Kansas City will host Aaron Barnhart and Diane Eickhoff for a discussion and signing of their book, “The Big Divide” on April 17. A 6 p.m. reception will precede the program.
In this new book, readers can plan to partake in a guided tour of the Missouri-Kansas border region. Discover the African-American soldiers who were the first to die for their freedom; the battle to keep Missouri in the Union, with dueling governments, flags and armies; and how the Civil War shaped future outlaw Jesse James and future president Harry Truman.
The National Archives is located at 400 W. Pershing Road. To make reservations for this free program, call 816-268-8010 or email email@example.com.
