  • As part of the ongoing relationship between law enforcement agencies and Special Olympics Missouri, Lee’s Summit Police officers will be serving at Habanero’s to raise money for nearly 17,000 athletes around the state. LSPD will be hosting this a Tip-A-Cop event from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, April 17, at Habanero's, 1008 S.E. Blue Pkwy., Lee's Summit.
There will be a taco eating contest at 3:30 p.m. For a $10 donation, anyone can see how many tacos they can eat in a set amount of time.
Special Olympics provides people with intellectual disabilities continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, and experience joy as they participate in the sharing of gifts and friendship with their fellow athletes, their family and friends, and communities across Missouri. More than 17,000 athletes participate in 21 Olympic-type sports throughout the state.
