The Lee’s Summit North boys golf team finished behind just two teams Wednesday.

The Broncos fired a team total of 322 to finish third in the Camdenton Laker Invitational at the par-72 Club at Old Kinderhook. Blue Springs finished 17th and Blue Springs South 19th in the 28-team field. Columbia Rock Bridge and Rockhurst each shot 317 but Rock Bridge won a tiebreaker with a better No. 5 score to claim the title.

Keaton Black shot a 2-over-par 74 to finish second and Ian Mathewson shot 76 for fourth to spark North. Brett Scott (83) and Parker Davis (89) also scored for the Broncos.

Devin Hyman shot 81 to lead Blue Springs. Jackson Koenig (89), Taylor Mueller (91) and Brian Armstrong also scored for the Wildcats.

“It was a tough course and a very windy day,” Blue Springs coach Doug Gillispie said. “We were very happy with Devin Hyman, who had been struggling. … It was a great effort by him.”

Kyle Barbee shot 82, Trevor Palmer 89, Ryan Drake 90 and Jack Steinbeck 100 for Blue Springs South.

“The boys had a rough day today,” Jaguars coach Ted Linke said. “We have to be more consistent if we expect to do well down the stretch.”

NORTHLAND INVITATIONAL: Blue Springs and Truman made strong showings in the Northland Invitational Tuesday at Paradise Pointe Golf Complex.

Blue Springs fired a 339 team total to finish fourth, while Truman shot 353 to tie for sixth in the 24-team field on the par-72 Posse course. Park Hill South shot 308 to top Rockhurst’s 316 for the team title. The Blue Springs B team was 13th and William Chrisman took 17th.

Steven Shaw shot 81 to tie for eighth individually and lead Blue Springs. Jackson Koenig shot 84 and Brian Armstrong and Taylor Mueller each shot 87 to complete the Wildcats’ scoring.

Truman’s Brian Billings and Dane Garcia each fired an 83 to tie for 16th in the 120-player field. Spencer Jones (89) and Blake Jones (98) completed the scoring for the Patriots.

Jake Becker shot 90 to pace Chrisman, while Devin Hyman shot 84 for the Blue Springs B team.

FORT OSAGE FINISHES THIRD: Liberty shot 323 at the par-72 WinterStone Golf Course for victory Thursday in a three-team match. Raymore-Peculiar shot 373 and Fort Osage 413.

Micah Lewis posted a 91, Sam Morgan 96, Sage Miller 110 and Bryce Richardson 116 for Fort Osage.

“I was a little disappointed with our performance today, but we will work on it,” Fort Osage coach Roger Hunt said.

Liberty’s Wayne Baker and Raven Costey each shot 80 to share medalist honors.

TRUMAN TAKES THIRD: Truman totaled 194 to placed third in Staley’s four-team match Wednesday at par-36 Staley Farms Golf Club.

Spencer Jones led Truman with a 44, Brian Billings added 47, Dane Garcia 48, Blake Jones 55 and Ryan Hatch 64. Kearney’s Adam Lechner and Rockhurst’s Patrick Hogan each shot 40 to share medalist honors.
