    To the editor:
After reading the Examiner report of April 12 regarding the Fort Osage School Board vote to retain a book challenged by a parent, “The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian,” I feel it necessary to explain my decision to vote no on retaining this book in the Fort Osage School District.
This book has profanity, sexual phrases and a degrading racial comment. The racial comment alone is reason to remove this book from our district. This comment uses the N-word and the F-word. We have removed God from our schools and replaced Him with profanity and racial comments.
I thank Kelly Scott for joining me in the attempt to remove this book from our classrooms.
