Two Boy Scouts from Boy Scout Troop 492 have attained the elite rank of Eagle Scout. They are Zachary Webber and Joseph Kraft. Their Eagle Court of Honor will be held April 29 at Susquehanna Baptist Church, 17800 E. Susquehanna Ridge in Independence.
Zachary Adam Webber, the grandson of Jerry and Sherril White and son of Krista Carey, joined Troop 492 in January 2009, graduating from Pack 492. His record of achievement includes 35 merit badges and the World Conservation Award. Leadership has been shown through the positions of Assistant Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader and Scribe.
Zack attended the H. Roe Bartle Scout Camp for five years and attained the rank of Warrior Fierce Stalking Bobcat in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. His High Adventure participation included Wisconsin, South Dakota, Arkansas and St. Louis.
For his Eagle Service Project, Zack planned and supervised the renovation of landscaping at Messiah Lutheran Church.
He is a senior at Fort Osage High School, where he was in track for two years and is a member of the National Arts Honor Society.
Joseph Zachary Kraft, the son of Tom and Heather Kraft, joined Troop 492 in September 2006, after earning the Arrow of Light in Pack 492. His record of achievement includes 35 merit badges. Leadership has been shown through the positions of Quartermaster, Assistant Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, Scribe, Guide and Chaplain’s Aide.
Joe attended the H. Roe Bartle Scout Camp for six years and attained the rank of Warrior Fast Stepping Turtle in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. His High Adventure participation included Colorado, South Dakota, Wisconsin and Arkansas.
For his Eagle Service Project, Joe planned and supervised the construction of 15 Bluebird houses and delivered them to Lakeside Nature Center for a Bluebird Trail.
He is a senior at Blue Springs South High School and is a group first sergeant in ROTC.
