  • LAWRENCE, Kan. – Blue Springs baseball coach Tim McElligott said his team put it all together Thursday.
Erique Jordan fired a complete-game two-hitter as the Wildcats routed Shawnee Mission (Kan.) West 9-1 on the opening day of the Lawrence Festival tournament.
“He just pitched outstanding today,” McElligott said of Jordan, who struck out two while allowing the one run. “We played pretty much the perfect game today in all three phases.”
Jeremy Lufft and Jared Lafal each had two hits and an RBI to lead the Wildcats (9-11), who scored in five of the seven innings and broke it open with four runs in the sixth.
Blue Springs plays Bishop Miege and Blue Valley Northwest Saturday in its final two games in the round-robin tournament.
