  • Blue Springs had three of the four golfers who tied for the top round of 42, winning Wednesday’s dual match over Park Hill at Tiffany Springs Golf Club, 171-181.
Jackson Koenig, Devin Hyman and Steven Shaw each carded 42 on the par-36 course for the Wildcats, with Hyman getting medalist honors and Koenig runner-up based on a scorecard tiebreaker.
Taylor Muller’s 45 completed Blue Springs’ top four.
“We are happy for Devin; this was his first time as a varsity medalist,” Blue Springs coach Doug Gillispie said. “It was a windy day, and I was happy with how our top four stepped up as Brian Armstrong was unavailable.
“We finally have a top five that has separated itself from the rest of the pack, and we will now turn our focus towards conference (Monday at Adams Pointe Golf Club) and then districts (following Monday at Drumm Farm). I am happy with our improvement and our dedication to getting better; hopefully we continue to peak the next couple weeks.”
