Bridging The Gap's 18th annual EarthWalk will take place May 3 at City Market Park, 3rd and Main streets, in the River Market area of Kansas City. The walk starts at 9 a.m., with pre-walk activities starting at 8 a.m.
The three mile route will take walkers along the Riverfront Heritage Trail with views of the Kansas City skyline and the Missouri River. EarthWalk is part of a joint Earth Day celebration with Bridging The Gap, the City Market and StoneLion Puppet Theatre.
After the EarthWalk, walkers can enjoy the market's “Get Your Green On” festival and StoneLion's Puppet for the Planet Festivals, combined into one event at the City Market until 2 p.m. The event features electronics recycling, a community yard sale, eco-friendly exhibitors, art, entertainment and more.
Register online at www.earthdaykc.org and create your own personal fundraising page to collect donations for the chance to win prizes, including a week-long Colorado cabin stay. Proceeds from the EarthWalk support BTG's environmental education and action programs. For questions, call 816-561-1087.
