The Fort Osage and William Chrisman girls soccer teams will meet Saturday in the North Kansas City Tournament semifinals.
Fort Osage shut out St. Joseph Lafayette 3-0 and Chrisman blanked host North Kansas City 5-0 in Friday’s opening games.
Aspen O’Neal scored two goals and Emily Jungmeyer had the other to lift Fort Osage (10-3-2). Lydia Calderon and Megan Jackson combined for the shutout in goal.
“It was a good game and we played well,” Fort Osage coach Andrew Fletcher said. “We created a lot of chances and are excited to play Chrisman. It will be a lot of fun.”
Alyssa Kyle and Makenzie Erikson each scored two goals and Maggie Beem had one as Chrisman (6-5) rolled past Northtown. Bears goalkeeper Jordyn Atagi made three saves for the shutout.
“We did a better job of finishing,” Chrisman coach John Straub said.
Fort Osage and Chrisman play at 11 a.m. today, followed by the third-place and championship games at 3 p.m.
GRANDVIEW 3, VAN HORN 1: Cathy Allen scored the Falcons’ only goal late as Van Horn (5-8-1) fell at Grandview Friday.
SEDALIA SMITH-COTTON 4, GRAIN VALLEY 2: The host school was too much for Grain Valley (8-6) in the opening round of the Sedalia Smith-Cotton Tournament Friday. The Eagles will play St. Joseph Benton or Raymore-Peculiar in a consolation bracket game at 9 a.m. today.
