The Blue Springs South boys tennis team had to settle for fourth place in the Park Hill South Tournament Wednesday.

A second-place 3-1 showing by the doubles team of Paul Province and Jose Garchitorena led the Jaguars 19.5 total points. They were a half-point out of third place and one point shy of second.

Nic Mandina and Jared Martin went 3-2 and placed sixth, and Joe Walters and Cory Michael placed third in B doubles with a 3-1 record.

“It was great day to play and the guys had a great time,” South coach Nathan Mooney said. “There were quite a few excellent teams, and they played how we needed them to win with one match left for the season and districts beginning next week.”
